The first dropshipping stores I had were a bra that was trending and a phone case store, and that was back in 2016 after I had lost my job. I was determined not to get unemployment, so within 3 days I had 2 sites and sales on the first day of the sites launching. As a matter of fact, as soon as I hit launch on the phone case store, I had a sale! I could not believe it… It just seemed too good to be true. But what I later learned is that I had put in the right keywords and automatically as my first customer was searching on Google, she found my case of my brand new online store.
There are 3 main things you will need to immediately get started:
- A product that is in demand and a supplier to provide it via dropshipping.
- A website to sell the product.
- A good call to action to get new customers.
How to find an in-demand product?
- See what your friends are buying?
- What is needed for this time of the year?
- Find a product that solves a problem that not a lot of people are solving?
- Find a product that has a low cost but high price value?
How to find a supplier?
Aliexpress – take note that this supplier is going to take a long time for your customer to receive the merchandise.
Ebay – a lot of people forget about Ebay because they are on Aliexpress or do not want to take the time to search.
Amazon – believe it or not you can find products on Amazon to sell at a higher price on Shopify and there are plenty of customers that will buy it from your site and not search on Amazon.
Modalyst – This is a dropshipping platform that I found through Shopify and it offers domestic (within the United States) dropshippers.
Printify – This is where you can print t-shirts and other items, but it is really known for print-on-demand tshirts which means you never carry inventory or purchase until the customer pays.
